World-renowned singer Angélique Kidjo has cross-pollinated the West African traditions of her childhood in Benin with elements of American R&B, funk and jazz, as well as influences from Europe and Latin America.
She is a recipient of the 2023 Polar Music Prize.

HIALøSA
19.30 // VICTORIATEATERN
Hialøsa brings us traditional music from our own southernmost region of Scania, or as they put it themselves, “Scanian very old pop". It is traditional music material, fragments, songs and new compositions. Traditional, disruptive and honest. Feet stomping, energetic and always shifting, driven by intense violins and a rythmical bass. Songs about life and death, remembrance of a past looking towards the future.

On stage:
Alva Bosdottir: fiddle, voice and foot stomping
Malte Zeberg – double-bass, voice and foot stomping
Love Aamås Kjellsson – voice, octave fiddle, foot stomping and handclap
