Workshop:
COME AND SING WITH THE FOLK MUSIC CHOIR
18.15–20.30 // FÖRENINGSCENTER NOBEL 21
Welcome to a workshop in traditional folk songs with Brita Björs, Johan Rehnqvist, and the Folk Music Choir in Malmö for a night. You don’t need any previous singing experience to join.
We will be singing Swedish or Nordic folk music in harmony. It will be a festive singing session for everyone – both experienced singers and complete beginners are welcome. All learning will be done by ear, so bring something to record with (for example, your phone).
Members of the Folk Music Choir of Malmö will also take part in the workshop. If you’re not already part of the choir, this is a chance to try it out, and you can join the choir afterwards if you like. It’s also perfectly fine to only attend this single workshop.
Cost: 300 SEK. You’ll get an invoice by email.
Free of charge for members of the Folk Music Choir.
Register for the workshop no later than 8 April to secure your spot.
We will be at the community center Nobel 21, Nobelvägen 23.

DUO ALAN – KLEZMER AND BEYOND!
19.30 // CAFÉ DULCITA
Joy & sorrow, wild and beautiful!
In Duo Alan’s music, joy and sorrow are clearly present, as well as the wild, the beautiful and the melancholic. Music that reflects both the bright and darker sides of life, music that celebrates life.
Peter Bothén has played klezmer music for over thirty years with the group Sabbath Hela Veckan, a background that has left clear traces in both his playing style and songwriting. Jerry Adbo is a versatile musician and arranger with many years of experience in klezmer music. Most of the repertoire consists of original compositions, seasoned with music by Piazzolla, Erik Satie and others.
The name Alan is dedicated to Alan Kurdi, the Kurdish boy who drowned in the Mediterranean in 2015 while fleeing the war in Syria. Alan also means hope, something the duo wishes to convey through their music. Duo Alan released their debut album in autumn 2024, followed by Klezmer and Beyond in October 2025.
