KORASAGOR
13.00 // MOTETTEN
Follow us into a fairytale set in an African village, where a little boy once grew up. His older brother is waiting there, ready to take us on an exciting journey of discovery through the secrets of the forest. Together we set off on an imaginative adventure filled with magical encounters with the wonders of nature.
It is a warm and playful story about how something that first feels unfamiliar can turn into friendship. About daring to approach the unknown and discovering that it may not be so frightening after all – but full of possibilities. The story is carried by the sound of the 21-string harp lute kora, whose music guides us through the adventure. The movements of dance help us step into the story, and at times we also hear drums from different West African drumming traditions. Everyone is invited to sing, move and take part in the music.
Participants:
Max Soumah (dance, djembe, singing and storytelling)
Andreas Åkesson (kora, kutiro, dundun, singing and storytelling)
