Workshop:
TUNES FROM OSTROBOTHNIA WITH MATS GRANFORS
10.00–16.00 // STUDIEFÖRBUNDET BILDA
Welcome to a workshop focusing on tunes from Ostrobothnia when Mats Granfors comes to Malmö!
Mats Granfors grew up in a family deeply rooted in folk music. His grandfather was a traditional fiddler, and Mats learned the music by ear. He also learned from other folk musicians in the Närpes–Korsnäs area. For a period, Mats “put the fiddle on the shelf” and trained as a pianist in Denmark. A few years ago, he returned to the fiddle and now plays with the trio I Fäälan, which received the award Group of the Year 2024 at the national Eläköön Folk Gala in Finland.
All instruments are welcome. Feel free to bring a friend or family member.
The course fee is 500 SEK.
Location: Studieförbundet Bilda, Jörgen Ankersgatan 12, Malmö.

NÄR NALLE FÖRSVANN
14.00 // BARNENS SCEN
Elsa is the name of the main character who loses her best friend, Teddy, at a fairground. Elsa cries and misses her dear friend, and her imagination about where Teddy might have gone comes alive through newly written songs perfectly suited for the youngest audience: “The Fair Song,” “The Bicycle Song,” “Knock-Knock Song,” “Hello Teddy Song,” and more. A fireworks display of exciting worlds, lively characters, and music comes to life as we open this magical box!
When Teddy Went Missing is a variety-inspired puppet musical specially created for the very youngest audience. The story is guided by fairground directors Ida Gustafsson and Johan Ohlsson from Apolonia Musikteater.

TRADITIONAL SINGING SESSION
15.00–18.00 // FAGAN’S PUB, MALMÖ
This is a traditional music session with a focus on songs, coordinated by Colm Doyle, Irish Music Society of Skåne. If you’d like to sing, please let Colm know during the session. The repertoire is predominantly — though not exclusively — from the British Isles, reflecting how broadsides, ballads, and shanties travelled freely back and forth across the Irish Sea and the Atlantic. A cappella, unison, harmony, and accompanied singing are all encouraged.
A few things to keep in mind:
• Leave your guitar at home. Two house guitars will be available; some melody instruments may also be on hand if backing is needed.
• Bring your voice — and your songs. Come ready to sing, preferably from memory. Don’t be shy about sharing a few words about your song; its background and context help bring the story to life.

Fimbul
Fimbul’s music is driven by a strong sense of community and joyful groove. Their repertoire blends Nordic folk music—both traditional and modern—with original compositions, moving between the fragile and the powerful.
Hastverk
